English Wood Fuels Ltd was established in May 2008 and principally supplies fuel in the form of dry woodchip and wood pellets. It was created to meet the wood fuel demand developed by Rural Energy Ltd. and the producer group East Midlands Wood Fuels Ltd.

In January 2010, English Wood Fuels became part of the Myriad CEG group, a renewable fuels investment enterprise owned by the Wates Family, owners of the Wates Group, one of the largest privately owned construction groups in the UK. Myriad CEG encompasses partners experienced in a range of renewable technologies from biomass to solar, wind and ground and air source heating.

Howard Towns: General Manager

Howard is a founder member of English Wood Fuels. He was originally employed in 2007 to manage the public funding and development of East Midlands Wood Fuels, from which English Wood Fuels grew. He has a background in harvesting and marketing of timber in both the public and private sector, sawmilling and several years working in utility arboriculture.
